Waterlooville IT support, from the company that actually lives here

This isn’t a territory we cover from somewhere else. Our office is on Waterberry Drive, and it has been since 2011.

Every other town on this site, we cover from here. Waterlooville is different: it’s not a place we drive to, it’s the place we drive from. Our first ever client signed up in 2005, from an office a few minutes from where we still sit today, and the company has grown up around this town rather than into it.

That matters more than it sounds. When a Waterlooville business calls with something that needs a person on site, there’s no van journey across the county to factor in, no “we’ll get someone over there this week.” Someone can be with you in minutes, because we’re already here.

Day to day, most of what we do is unglamorous by design: keeping systems running quietly enough that nobody has to think about them, sorting a Microsoft 365 rollout, or taking over from a setup that’s been patched together for years and needs someone to finally get on top of it.

We’ve stayed small on purpose. Ring us and you get someone who already knows how your business is wired, not a ticket number and a queue.

What that looks like in practice

Managed IT support

Your whole team gets a direct line to engineers who already know your setup, not a shared help desk queue. Systems are watched around the clock, so most issues are caught and fixed before they turn into a phone call. When something does need a person, that person is a short drive away rather than a booking slot next Tuesday.

Cyber security

Protection that’s proportionate rather than paranoid, plus hands-on help getting Cyber Essentials certified if you need it for a tender or a contract. We’ll tell you plainly what’s actually worth doing and skip the scare tactics some suppliers rely on to sell add-ons you don’t need.

Cloud and Microsoft 365

As a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Modern Work, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Azure are things we handle every week, not learn on your account. That covers clean migrations, ongoing management, and the unpicking job when a setup has grown organically for years and quietly become a mess.

Projects and consulting

Office moves, server migrations, and the bigger jobs that don’t fit around day-to-day helpdesk tickets. Properly planned, properly scoped, and looked after by the same people afterwards, so nobody hands you off once the invoice is settled.

The honest version of what it’s like

Most IT support pages list what’s included and stop there. Here’s what it’s actually like to deal with us day to day, since that’s the bit that decides whether you’d recommend us to someone else.

You deal with a small, consistent group of engineers rather than whoever’s free on a rota, which means you’re not re-explaining your setup every time you call. Most things get sorted remotely because it’s genuinely quicker for everyone, but being based in Waterlooville means “someone will pop round” is a real sentence here, not a soft way of saying tomorrow at the earliest.

We talk plainly. If something needs explaining, we explain it properly instead of hiding behind jargon, and if something isn’t worth doing, we’ll say so rather than sell it to you anyway.

Our own doorstep

Our office sits off Waterberry Drive, a few minutes from the precinct and the town centre. If you’ve ever wondered whether “local IT support” actually means a local office or just a marketing line, in our case it’s the former: this is where the team is, every day, not a registered address with the real work happening somewhere else. Around six in ten of our staff live locally too, so it’s not just where we work, it’s where we live.

Waterlooville’s own business base is a genuine mix, from the independent shops and professional services around the precinct to the trades and firms working out of the enterprise centres dotted around town. It’s exactly the kind of variety that keeps a small IT team honest: no two setups are the same, so there’s no single template we reach for.

Because we’re right here, Waterlooville is also where our wider Hampshire coverage radiates out from. If you’re just outside town, our support in Portsmouth, Southampton, and the rest of Hampshire is run from the same office.

Twenty-one years in one town

Ken Scaddan Associates signed up as our very first client in 2005 and are still with us now, which in an industry where contracts churn every couple of years is the statistic we’re proudest of. Active Dorset, another long-standing client, has just renewed for a further three years without needing to be chased. Neither of those things happens by accident.

Over that time we’ve picked up clients across architecture, sports charities, property, legal, and online retail, among others. Architects and property firms tend to live in large files and specialist design software, so storage, backup and remote access reliability matter more than most. Sports charities and membership bodies usually run lean with no in-house IT person and need things explained rather than jargoned at them. Different problems, same underlying job: technology that works quietly enough in the background that nobody has to think about it.

Cyber Essentials certification support

Thinking about switching?

Nobody calls an IT company for fun. Usually something’s gone wrong, or it’s been quietly going wrong for a while, and the real worry isn’t whether a new provider would be better, it’s whether moving to one will be a nightmare.

It doesn’t have to be. We’ve done this often enough to handle the awkward parts ourselves, including speaking to your current provider on your behalf if that makes things easier.

01

A proper conversation

Twenty minutes on where you are and what is not working. No pitch.

02

A plan for your business

Built around what you actually need, not a package with a name.

03

A handover with no gap

We take care of the transition so your team keeps working throughout.

Common questions

Q1

Can I actually visit your office?

Yes, and easily. We’re a genuine Waterlooville business off Waterberry Drive, not a virtual address somewhere else with a local phone number bolted on. If you’d rather talk face to face than over the phone, just say so.

Q2

Our IT provider has been taken over and the local office has gone. Sound familiar?

Very. It’s a story we hear often at the moment: a local provider gets absorbed into a bigger group and the service quietly moves further away, in every sense. We’re independent, owner-led, and have been on the same Waterberry Drive site since 2011.

Q3

How much does IT support cost?

We don’t publish set prices, because a five-person office and a fifty-person one need genuinely different things and a price list would only mislead you. Book a call and we’ll talk through what you need and what it would cost.

Q4

Are we too small for you?

Almost certainly not. We work with businesses from a handful of staff upwards, and being small ourselves, we’re a better fit for smaller companies than most providers are.

Q5

How quickly do you answer the phone?

Usually within a few rings, by someone who already knows your setup. We’re a small team rather than a call centre, so you’re never re-explaining your problem from scratch.

Q6

Can you help us get Cyber Essentials certified?

Yes. We’ll tell you honestly what needs to change, sort it, and take you through the certification itself. It’s increasingly a requirement for tenders and insurance, so it’s worth having even before anyone asks for it.

Q7

What makes you different from a bigger IT provider?

Mostly size, and what that does to service. A bigger provider usually means a call centre, tiered support, and an account manager who changes every year. We’ve stayed small on purpose. You know who you’re dealing with, and so do we.

Q8

What happens on the free 20-minute call?

A conversation, not a pitch. We ask what’s working, what isn’t, and what you’re trying to achieve. If we think we can genuinely help, we’ll say so and explain what that would look like. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll tell you that too.

Let’s have a conversation

Twenty minutes with Chris, no pitch and no obligation. If we are not the right fit we will say so.
