SWITCHING IT PROVIDERS
Thinking about switching IT providers?
Most people who call us are not shopping around for fun. Something has gone wrong, or has been quietly going wrong for a while. Here is what switching actually involves.

THE SHORT ANSWER
Switching IT providers is not a nightmare, it just needs someone competent handling it. We have done it many times: a proper conversation, a plan built around your business, then a handover with no gap in your support. We can even talk to your current provider on your behalf if that makes it easier.
What switching actually involves
The worry is rarely whether a new provider would be better. It is whether the changeover itself will be disruptive. It does not have to be, if it is handled properly.
01
A proper conversation
Twenty minutes on where you are, what is not working, and what you are trying to achieve. No pitch, and if we are not the right fit we will tell you.
02
A plan for your business
Built around what you actually need, not a package with a name. We will flag anything that needs fixing along the way, and anything that does not.
03
A handover with no gap
We take care of the transition, including speaking to your current provider if that helps, so your team keeps working throughout.
When you probably shouldn’t switch
We would rather tell you this honestly than talk you into something you do not need. If your current provider answers the phone quickly, explains things in plain English, and you are not regularly caught out by problems they should have seen coming, switching is unlikely to make much difference. IT support is IT support, and a good provider is a good provider, wherever they are based.
Where it usually is worth a conversation: your local provider has been taken over and the service has moved further away, both literally and in how it feels. You are dealing with a rotating cast of engineers who do not know your setup. Costs keep creeping up with no clear explanation. Or you simply do not know if you are properly protected, and nobody has ever explained it to you straight.
Common questions
Q1
Our IT provider has been taken over and the local office has gone. Can you help?
Yes, and we hear this a lot at the moment. When a local provider gets absorbed into a larger group the service usually moves further away, both literally and in how it feels. We are independent, owner-led, and still based in Waterlooville.
Q2
Will there be any downtime during the switch?
We plan the handover specifically to avoid it. That is the point of the process: no gap between your old provider stopping and us starting.
Q3
Do we need to tell our current provider we are leaving?
Eventually, yes, but we can handle that conversation for you if it feels awkward. Plenty of clients would rather we dealt with it directly.
Q4
How long does switching take?
It depends on the size and state of your current setup, but the first conversation is always the same: twenty minutes, no pitch, to understand where you are.
Q5
What if we’re not actually sure switching is the right move?
That is exactly what the first call is for. We would rather tell you honestly if your current setup is fine than talk you into moving for the sake of it.
Q6
Can you take over support without a big upfront review?
We do look at what you have first, but that is part of the handover, not a separate paid project before we will even talk to you.
Let’s have a conversation
Twenty minutes with Chris, no pitch and no obligation. If we are not the right fit we will say so.
