IT support for Chichester, just over the Hampshire border

We work from Waterlooville, just inside Hampshire, and have supported Chichester businesses alongside our Hampshire clients since 2005. Owner-led, no jargon, no call centres.

We’ve been going since 2005, working the Hampshire and West Sussex border with practical, no-nonsense IT and picking up a good number of Chichester clients along the way. Owner-led throughout, which means we listen before recommending anything, then build IT around how the business actually runs rather than a package we happen to be selling that month.

Chichester sits just the other side of the county line from us, close enough that a same-day visit is a genuine option whenever one’s actually needed, not a nice-sounding promise.

Day-to-day support, a Microsoft 365 rollout, or steadying a system that keeps letting people down, the aim stays the same throughout: less disruption, less frustration, more time spent running the business rather than fighting it.

We’ve kept the team deliberately small. Ring us and you get someone who already knows your setup, not a ticket number in a queue.

What we do for Chichester businesses

Managed IT support

Your whole team gets a direct line to engineers who already know your setup, whether that’s by phone, remotely, or on site when it genuinely needs a person there. We watch for problems around the clock, so most get caught before anyone notices, and when a human is needed, they’re not starting cold on a ticket.

Cyber security

Sensible, plain-English protection, plus hands-on help getting Cyber Essentials certified where it matters for a tender or a contract. Right tools in the background, processes people will actually follow, a bit of training so a dodgy email gets spotted. No scare tactics, no add-ons you don’t need.

Cloud and Microsoft 365

As a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Modern Work, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive and Azure are things we handle weekly, not learn on your account. Clean migrations, ongoing management, and untangling a setup that’s grown messy over the years without anyone meaning it to.

Projects and consulting

Office moves, server migrations, security overhauls and the bigger jobs that don’t fit around everyday helpdesk tickets. Properly planned, properly scoped, and looked after by the same people once it’s live.

The honest version of what it’s like

Most IT support pages tell you what’s included and stop there. Here’s what it’s actually like to deal with us day to day.

You get a small, consistent group of engineers on your account, not a rotating cast off a shared help desk, so you’re not re-explaining your setup every time you call. Most requests are handled remotely because it’s faster for everyone, but when something genuinely needs a person in the room, we’re close enough to Chichester to be there the same day.

We talk plainly. If something needs explaining, we explain it properly instead of reaching for jargon, and we’ll tell you when something isn’t worth doing, which is an odd thing to put on a website until you’ve dealt with a supplier who never does.

Covering all of Chichester

The city centre and cathedral quarter, out towards the harbour and the surrounding villages, we cover all of it from Waterlooville, just over the Hampshire border. Chichester’s mix of independent businesses, professional practices and firms serving the rural area around it means a genuinely varied set of IT needs, not one template applied to everyone.

Most support runs remotely because for day-to-day issues it’s simply quicker. When something needs a person in the room, whether that’s a new starter setup, a hardware fault, or a network issue remote tools can’t fully diagnose, we’re close enough to be there without a long wait.

Chichester sits alongside our wider Hampshire coverage, close to our office in Waterlooville. If you’re just outside town, our support across the rest of Hampshire is worth a look.

Twenty-one years and counting

Ken Scaddan Associates signed up as our first client in 2005 and are still with us now, which in an industry that churns contracts every couple of years is the number we’re proudest of. Active Dorset, another long-standing client, has just renewed for a further three years unprompted.

We’ve picked up clients across architecture, sports charities, property, legal and online retail, among others. Architects and property firms tend to live in large files and specialist design software, so storage, backup and reliable remote access matter more than most. Online retailers can’t afford a website or order system going down, ever, and solicitors carry their own regulatory and confidentiality requirements a generic support contract won’t cover properly. Different sectors, same underlying job: technology that works quietly enough that nobody has to think about it.

Cyber Essentials certification support

Thinking about switching?

Nobody calls an IT company for the fun of it. Usually something’s gone wrong, or it’s been quietly going wrong for a while, and the real worry isn’t whether a new provider would be better, it’s whether the move itself turns into a headache.

It doesn’t have to. We’ve done this enough times to handle the awkward parts, including speaking to your current provider on your behalf if that makes it easier.

01

A proper conversation

Twenty minutes on where you are and what is not working. No pitch.

02

A plan for your business

Built around what you actually need, not a package with a name.

03

A handover with no gap

We take care of the transition so your team keeps working throughout.

Common questions

Q1

You’re not actually in Chichester, does that matter?

Not much. We’re just over the border in Waterlooville, close enough for same-day site visits when something genuinely needs a person there, and most support runs remotely anyway.

Q2

How quickly do you answer the phone?

Usually within a few rings, by someone who already knows your setup. We’re a small team rather than a call centre, so you’re never re-explaining your problem from scratch.

Q3

How much does IT support cost?

We don’t publish set prices, because a five-person office and a fifty-person one need genuinely different things and a price list would only mislead you. Book a call and we’ll talk through what you need and what it would cost.

Q4

Are we too small for you?

Almost certainly not. We work with businesses from a handful of staff upwards, and being small ourselves, we’re a better fit for smaller companies than most.

Q5

Can you help us get Cyber Essentials certified?

Yes. We’ll tell you honestly what needs to change, sort it, and take you through the certification itself. It’s increasingly a requirement for tenders and insurance, so it’s worth having before anyone asks for it.

Q6

What makes you different from a bigger IT provider?

Mostly size, and what that does to service. A bigger provider usually means a call centre, tiered support, and an account manager who changes every year. We’ve stayed small on purpose. You know who you’re dealing with, and so do we.

Q7

What happens on the free 20-minute call?

A conversation, not a pitch. We ask what’s working, what isn’t, and what you’re trying to achieve. If we think we can genuinely help, we’ll say so and explain what that would look like. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll tell you that too.

Q8

Our IT provider was taken over and the local office has gone. Can you help?

Yes, and we hear this a lot at the moment. When a local provider gets absorbed into a larger group, service usually moves further away, both literally and in how it feels. We’re independent, owner-led, and staying that way. Give us a call and we’ll talk you through what switching would involve.
